Are you a good steward of the influence you have on others? Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. That’s a convicting question, isn’t it? Most of us don’t realize how our words, our attitudes and actions; our choices about entertainment, and the language we use, influence others—either for the good or the bad. But First Timothy 4 says, “… in speech, conduct… and purity, show yourself an example.”
There was a time I didn’t think this way; I thought my testimony was only telling people how I came to Christ. I didn’t realize that it’s mainly the way we live our lives that shows the world how real we think Jesus is and whether or not we honor him. Friend, be a wise example. Strengthen others with your integrity; be careful how you speak and act. Don’t let your behavior become sloppy. Keep Jesus out and in front, because you don’t want to risk bringing shame to our Savior.
