Young and Old Paul

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Back when he was young, in the book of Acts, it was no effort for Paul to be wide awake at midnight in a jail cell, praying and singing in spite of all his suffering. He sang hymns at the top of his lungs; jail doors flew open; everyone’s chains fell off. No wonder Paul was filled with joy. The young church was new and growing and Paul’s preaching kept bringing more into the fold. But then, a lot of time goes by and Paul is old … When he writes Second Timothy, he’s in jail again. But this time there was no miracle, no escape. Paul was sick and for the most part, alone. Yet he clings courageously to God.

Friend listening, learn a lesson from Paul. There will be different seasons in your life. So, don’t look at your problem; just keep looking to Jesus. Like Paul, no matter what your age, fight the good fight…finish the race… and keep the faith.
