Yield to the Master Artist

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and you ought to see how many half-finished paintings I have in my art studio. I get a wonderful idea; I’ll do a few quick sketches and then…my attention gets diverted. You know, I am so glad that my Creator does not approach things like I do. He always completes what he begins. And that includes you. Psalm 138 says, “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever – do not abandon the works of your hands.”

Did you hear that? The Lord is not about to abandon what he has started in your life; he’ll fulfill his purpose for you. The Bible also says that he who began a good work in you will carry it – get this – to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. So take heart: his attention on you has not gotten diverted. He will keep refining and shaping you until he reaches his goal. Today, yield to the master artist who always completes what he begins.
