Words from Sebastian

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. In the very early years of the fledgling church, persecution against Christians was hot and heavy. But our brothers and sisters in Christ were heaven-bent on standing strong, despite the suffering. But… there were others. For them, suffering for being a Christian was just too hard. That’s why Sebastian, an early church father, spoke these words to his congregation. He said, “When we get to heaven, we will not regret that we suffered; we will regret that we suffered so little, and that little, so badly.” Great advice for Christians hundreds of years ago and great advice for you and me today. Because we, too, need to stand strong when trials hit hard. We need to believe that God’s grace is indeed enough for our problems.

So suffer well. Suffer faithfully. And if you need prayer support if you need help, then let us know at joniandfriends.org.
