When Everything Went Wrong

It was one of those mornings I’d rather forget. Hi I’m Joni and that morning, before I even went out the door, I contended with a leaky faucet, a lost wallet, and a dead battery on my wheelchair. Then on the way to work a button popped off my blouse. Now, these were all small things… but they really frazzled me. But you have times like that also. I know the prophet Habakkuk sure did. He wrote, “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food… (boy, this guy really had it bad)… though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet… yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” Well, you’ll be happy to know that the end of that day that I had when everything went wrong? It ended up joyful.

So, follow Habakkuk’s example… no matter what, rejoice in the Lord today.
