Wasting Away Yet Renewed

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and they say that old age is not for sissies, and I’d agree, especially now that I am in my 70s. 2 Corinthians even says that, “Outwardly we’re wasting away.” It seems nowadays every morning when I wake up, I am facing some new pain or limitation. But that same Bible verse in Corinthians continues, assuring us that, “Inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” Yep, God is renewing me day by day, and that keeps me hopeful and happy, no matter what my age. And it is why I squeeze every ounce of effort out of my 70-year-old quadriplegic body. I don’t mind outwardly wasting away, if it means helping others find inward renewal through Jesus Christ day by day. My point? No matter how old you are, 17 or 70, this is the way to live. So, don’t let your age get you down! Help others find inward renewal in Jesus Christ.
