A Visit from Joni

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Joni visited your school? Joni doesn’t get to visit many schools, but Ryleigh had an idea. Ryleigh is in the fourth grade and did her Historical Heroes project on Joni. When it came time for her presentation, she dressed up like Joni and came in a wheelchair to talk to her class. She told her class about Joni’s diving accident and about the many things Joni has learned about God. The whole time she pretended to be Joni, and her classmates and teacher felt like Joni was really there! They even tried to draw with crayons, using just their mouths like Joni does. Ryleigh goes to a school where lots of kids don’t know about Jesus, and as she pretended to be Joni, she told them about how Jesus can help in hard times. And you know what? If it really had been Joni visiting Ryleigh’s school, Joni would have said the same thing! Is there someone in your school who needs to hear that Jesus can help them?
