Using Song in Prayer

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Do you want to know how to speak God’s language when you pray? Repeat Scripture to him. After all, the Word of God is alive, it’s active, and when you infuse it into your prayers, you are infusing vitality into your praise and petitions. To use God’s word in prayer is to release his divine power in your time of worship, or when you request healing; using God’s word when you pray, especially his promises, is a respectful way of expecting God to do what he promises. It’s Isaiah 55 says that his word always accomplishes what God intends it to do and never returns empty-handed.

Soif you want your prayers to have power before heaven’s throne, then interlace them with Bible verses. Weave the word of God in and out of your praise or petition. When talking to the Lord, it’s always a great idea – a powerful idea – to use his own language.
