The Tunnel Beggar

Hi, this is Joni Eareckson Tada. My friend Muni lives in India and has dedicated his life to helping others. One time, as Muni was driving through a dark tunnel between two highways, he spotted a beggar in a bed of filthy rags. He stopped and made his way to the man where they began talking. Muni was stunned at how well educated this man was. He came from a wealthy family, but when he fell from the balcony of his home, he broke both his legs. The disgrace of his disability caused his family to reject him. Muni then shared that God had not rejected him. Tears fell down this man’s face as the truth washed over him. Later Muni connected this man to our Wheels for the World team, and this former beggar was lifted from the dirt and given dignity.
