The Humanity of Jesus
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I respect people when they don’t rely on Google for every single fact. They’ll set aside their Android or iPhone and, what do you know, they’ll use the muscle of their mind to dig and research. It helps them mentally, they say. And that, my friend, is a great illustration of Luke chapter 2 where it says that Jesus had to increase in wisdom. And then in Hebrews, He learned obedience. Wait. The Son of God had to work to be wise and learn to obey? Yes, He did. Because Jesus was the Son of Man, our perfect human representative. And although He could have relied on His personal storage of divine data, He chose not to. No, He grew in wisdom and learned to obey the hard way, as any human would. All because, as it says in Philippians, Jesus did not consider equality with God a thing to be grasped. Yep, 100% divine; and thank goodness, He chose to be 100% human, as well. And you can Google that!
