The Healing In Small Stuff

When we humble ourselves before God, He always gives us more than we can possibly imagine. Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and a good illustration is in Luke chapter 17. Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem when ten men with leprosy stood at a distance and loudly called out, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” Now, it’s interesting that they did not ask for healing; they just wanted pity; they wanted mercy. Perhaps they expected maybe a handout. Yet when Jesus saw them, He said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” It was a small, innocuous request, but as they humbly obeyed, they got quite the surprise, because Jesus healed them.

So, here’s the lesson: when God tells you to do something that seems small and unimportant, just do it! Humble yourself and obey in that little thing. Because your obedience could well lead to God surprising you and giving much, much more than you could possibly imagine.
