Taking Action

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and as I look at our broken country, I resonate with Nehemiah. When he saw his beautiful Jerusalem in shambles, its walls torn down and its people murdered in the streets, he sat down and wept and mourned for days. But then, Nehemiah took action. ’Cause it’s one thing to leave a prayer in God’s hands, trusting he’ll use it to motivate community leaders to do something; but it’s another to become actively engaged in God’s sovereign plan, offering yourself as his agent of change! Nehemiah was no community organizer. But he knew he was God’s man for the job of rebuilding and reconciliation. God wants us to earnestly pray for our country, but will you take the next step? Like Nehemiah, get engaged in God’s plan to bring about spiritual and social change. ’Cause God’s not looking for people with degrees in social justice – he’s just looking for cupbearers like you.
