Sunday Reflections

Psalm 42:8Two nights ago, I slept fitfully due to a sharp pain in my left hip. But on sleepless nights, (when the pain is bad), I remember to pray – I believe when I worship God and intercede during a season of pain, my prayers are more powerful, given that they are being voiced from an “altar of affliction.” I also sing songs in the night (when all is dark, hymns and Scripture songs are such a comfort to my soul). The next morning at work, I opened up an email from my friend, Lacie – she didn’t write words; she simply attached this graphic. There you have it: “songs in the night.” Isn’t it wonderful how God encourages us, just when we need His assurance most?! If you are in a season of affliction, remember to keep singing songs in your “night!”
