Summer Crops

Today is the official first day of summer, and it brings to mind that verse in Proverbs, “He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.”

Whether it’s plucking ripe tomatoes or picking corn, this is the season to go out and gather crops! And it’s “gathering season” at Joni and Friends, too. Summer is always a busy time —Family Retreats, Wheels for the World provisions, internships and Academy… I get dizzy just trying to keep up with it all! And as we “go out and gather,” I am excited for what it means for God’s Kingdom.

When I think of how many people will experience God’s love in action this summer through our staff and volunteers… and not just see it, but hear the Good News, too… it makes me want to roll up my sleeves and serve alongside all our teams!

Hey, it’s not too late to join with us this summer and help “gather in more crops” – we’re still looking for volunteers!
