Stay Hydrated

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. My friend Bev once hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, but along the trek she got annoyed that her husband often stopped their family at regular intervals to drink water. She wanted to wait until she was thirsty. Well, coming back up out of the canyon in the sweltering afternoonBev found that her body had no reservoir of hydration to sustain her. And that’s when she learned not to wait until the last minute to drink. And the same is true for believers in Jesus. We cannot pretend to go for long intervals without prayer, fellowship and Bible reading, and then expect to find strength when something goes wrong. Uh, uh. We need to drink in God’s Word at regular intervals. That’s the only way to be prepared for those tough, uphill climbs. So, don’t just run to Jesus, the Living Water when you’re thirsty. Drink Him in now and you won’t be parched when the day is over.
