Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and when I was little, I remember finding my mother’s diary [gasp] and then … I read it! Well, that night at supper, I could not look my mother in the face. Guilt prevented me from having any eye contact with her. As we all know, looking another person straight in the eyes has always been a test of a clear conscience, and God knows that as well. 2 Chronicles chapter 7 says, “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked way, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.” Did you get that part about seeking God’s face? Friend, you can’t do that unless you humble yourself and clear your conscience. So today, if you want to enjoy clean, clear eye-to-eye contact with your Savior, then make things right with Him today. When your conscience is clear, you can see His face so much better!
