Singing At Day's End

When I wheel down the ramp at Joni and Friends every evening after work, I love to sing old hymns.

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada.  When I wheel down the ramp at Joni and Friends every evening after work, I love to sing old hymns. The sound echoes off the walls and ceiling, and because so many of my co-workers are on the second floor, once in a while a couple of them sometimes chime in with harmony.   It’s like a living illustration of Psalm 134 that tells us to “Lift up our hands and worship the Lord in the sanctuary.”  Now I don’t know where you work, but even if you labor at home or walk the hallways of a college dorm; or stand at your kitchen sink or wait in line at the grocery store…  may I encourage you to sing a hymn softly?  There may be a discouraged person whose near enough to hear you; someone who needs a refreshing word. So be brave; show a little courage out and about. God has granted us so great a salvation, and it truly is something you want to sing about! So, let the hymns of praise begin today.

Have You Been Encouraged?
