Say Yes in Prayer

often when I am with others who are praying, I will say any number of things to show I agree with them in their worship or petitions.

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and often when I am with others who are praying, I will say “amen” as they pray or “yes Lord” or “so be it” or “hallelujah” to any number of things I agree with in their worship or petitions. And there’s a good reason why I do that. Because if I am silent while others are praying, I don’t want any dark demon listening in assuming I don’t agree or don’t care, or don’t join my heart with what’s being offered up before the Lord. For me, saying “amen” is a way of making clear to angels and demons that I am on the Lord’s side; I’m on the side of this person praying; I affirm those prayers with a hearty “yes and Amen.”  James chapter 4 says, “resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Praise the name of Jesus and say amen to the requests that are being offered up around you, and he really will flee, that devil. Remember, underscore the prayers of others with a hearty, “Yup Lord, I agree.”
