“The Bible Tells Me So”

When I was a child growing up in the 1950s, our school teacher started each day of class reading from the Bible.… followed always by the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer. My favorite hit song on the radio back then was “The Bible Tells Me So” sung by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. I forgot about that song until recently, while eating at a Cracker Barrel, I glanced up and saw the sheet music displayed on the wall (along with a lot of other old-fashioned relics). I smiled wistfully, remembering when the name of God in America was often spoken of with respect and reverence. I snapped a photo of the cover of the music – for me, it now serves as a reminder to keep praying for Spirit-sent revival in our land!
