Perseverance Matters
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. The other day I was in such pain and having trouble concentrating on my work. I wanted to throw in the towel, give up on the day and retreat to my bed.
But then I flipped open a note that read, “Joni, I hope you continue to serve Him will all your heart, ʼcause 2 Corinthians says, “Because of your service that proves your testimony, [people] will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the Gospel.” Wow, her note, and that verse put it into perspective.
Look, your perseverance does count; others are watching the way you handle trials, and they are being enriched by your response. Besides, when you get to heaven, you will see the immense value your sacrifices of service have accomplished in the lives of others. So, don’t give up. Do not throw in the towel. Friend, today, keep persevering.
