Happy Parents’ Day!

You may not be aware of it, but today is Parents’ Day. It’s a time to “recognize, uplift, and support” those who parent, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than to recognize the many moms and dads who care for children with special needs. Whenever I attend a Joni and Friends Family Retreat, I am so impressed to see these men and women in the trenches, serving their Savior by tending to the day-in and day-out needs of their children. Any kind of caregiving can be an exhausting task (I see it from the other side), but I know mothers and fathers carry an added burden.

So on this Parents’ Day, be encouraged by this short video about parenting children with disabilities and the critical role of Scripture and prayer. If you know a parent walking this difficult road, take a moment to share this video with them… and perhaps consider sending them a copy of Real Families, Real Needs. It’s a great way to recognize, uplift and support!
