Love God And Love Others
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. How is it possible that we, who have been blessed by God’s love, far beyond anything we could earn; how is it that we’re so unloving to others? The other afternoon, I growled at my husband under my breath when he forgot something important at the store. Why is it, when he fails in my eyes, am I so quick to judge rather than offer the same grace that God has given me, time and again? Jesus says in John 13, “Love one another as I have loved you.” But often, I don’t do it. Why don’t I love others as Christ has loved me? Well, because my heart is often ruled by other things contrary to my Savior. My life is not always motivated by what motivated His life. And that is to my discredit and disadvantage. Today, I want to show mercy to others, in the same way that God has shown mercy to me. So, join me, would you? Let’s love one another as Christ has loved us.
