Just Visiting

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson TadaAnd while studying music at Belmont University, my friend Gracie suffered a terrible accident that put her in a wheelchair. So, the University made a handicap parking sign for her right outside the school of music. And she used it a lot! But long after she graduated, Gracie returned to Belmont and she noticed that the word “visitor” had been affixed to the top of the handicap parking sign. And boy did it make her smile. But as followers of Jesus, no matter what our disability, we are all just visitors to suffering. It’s not permanent. The Bible says that one day what is perishable will put on the imperishable, and Gracie and I just can’t wait for that glorious Day. If you know someone like Gracie who uses a wheelchair, explain that if they come to know Christ, they only need to be a visitor to suffering.
