Just Do It
Hi, I am Joni Eareckson Tada, and it’s amazing how often we can gloss over God’s Word and not realize that God is actually talking to us; He’s trying to communicate something. But we wonder, “Oh, gee, is He speaking to me here? Is this promise for me? Is this directive for me? Is God really giving me guidance? I mean, am I actually hearing from the God of the universe?” Too often, you read God’s Word as though it were “general spiritual instruction,” but not intended specifically for you. Well, think again. Because it is. When you read the Bible and you sense God’s Spirit whispering to you, “Do this” or “Confess that,” or “Let me help you; let me give you power in this matter,” believe me, that’s God talking. And when He talks, make sure you respond. Embrace that convicting or comforting verse; take it into your heart and then, take action. Because it’s meant for you.
