Joyful, Patient, Faithful
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. We all know that if God brings us to it, he’ll bring us through it, right? But what does it actually take to get through it? Well, what helps me get through a tough time is Romans chapter 12. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer.” It’s like a flashlight, this Bible verse, illuminating the way through. Be joyful in hope? Hey, we know Jesus will return to take us to heaven with him. That’s our hope. One day, life won’t have problems; biblical hope like that gets you through. Next? Be patient in affliction. All these hardships are temporary. There is an end, and what’s more, God says it’s glorious. And finally? Be faithful in prayer. In other words, pray without ceasing. So, be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer. It is the only way through whatever you’re going through.
