It’s Personal

As I reflect back on the 40+ years since the founding of Joni and Friends, I am astounded at what God has done. I was 29 years old when God gave me the vision for this ministry – I was only a young adult, but I clearly recalled my hospital-days when I witnessed so much hopelessness from fellow-quadriplegics and others with disabilities.

Also when I was 29, I traveled to a developing nation where I saw firsthand the desperate plight of people with disabilities who felt abandoned and forgotten by the world. But I knew in my heart that they were not abandoned by God. God showed me that when he rescued me from depression. No, God has never forgotten even one hurting person – I know that promise from Luke 12:6-7.

As I reflect back on the forty years since the founding of Joni and Friends, I am astounded at what God has done…

Joni

So you see, the work of Joni and Friends is highly personal. And this video above tells that story. Well, I should clarify… it tells my story. It shows why the work of Joni and Friends is deep-down personal to me. It’s why every day I am reminded that our outreach is personal to so many of my co-laborers. And I bet it might just be the same for you.

So take a minute to watch this short video, and then share it!

Together, we can remind a hurting world that God has not forgotten them.
