Deaf-Blind Awareness Week

Do you know who was born on this day 132 years ago? Helen Keller, one of Joni’s heroes. Joni looks up to Helen Keller because she was deaf and blind yet she didn’t let her disability keep her from living a full life. She learned Braille and sign language, graduated from college with honors, and became known throughout the world for her perseverance and determination!

But did you know there are other people like Helen Keller who can’t see or hear? Maybe that makes you sad, thinking about how the world is full of lots of suffering. But as Helen said, “It (the world) is also full of the overcoming of it.” There can be lots of hard things in your life or in the lives of those around you, but we can overcome it in Jesus. As Romans 8:37 says, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

Are you going through a hard time? Drop us a note and let us know how we can be praying for you! And while you are here, be sure to watch our Friendship Adventure video, “Make Eye Contact”!
