Heavenward

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
Colossians 3:2

As Christians we know that heaven is our goal. Even Colossians 3 says so: “Set your minds on things above,” it says, “not on earthly things.” Sometimes, though, it’s hard to focus on heavenly glories when the demands and drudgeries of earth cloud your thinking. Constantly, we must invite the freshness of heaven to sweep away the stuffiness of earth’s concerns.

So be invigorated and revived by these words from Spurgeon who said, “Let us press forward to that which is before, leaving earth and earthly matters more and more, and yielding ourselves more fully to the cords that draw us toward the celestial country. Let us cry, ‘Heavenward, ho!’ Pull up the anchor, spread the sails, and let us go away to the fair country wither Jesus has gone before us.” Those are great words. So friend, today spread your sails and let’s all keep heading heavenward!
