Happy Leap Day!

February has an “extra” day this year. That means there are 366 days in 2016 instead of the usual 365. Have you been counting them? It may seem a little silly counting every day in the year. Maybe your class counted to the 100th day of school, but after that, did you keep counting? Probably not! But did you know that Joni counts her days? It’s because Psalm 90 in the Bible says, “So teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Now, this doesn’t mean that today when Joni woke up she counted all the way up to 242,443. It means that she asks God to help her remember that every day is important so that she doesn’t waste it. If God has given us another day, it means that He has a special plan for it! So pull out your Bible and read Psalm 90 for yourself. If you do, you’ll end up with a head start on tomorrow’s Chronological Bible Reading. After all, aren’t extra days all about getting ahead?
