Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and a favorite passage for us all is, no doubt, Matthew 10:8, “Freely you have received; freely give.” Now, there’s a lot of freedom going on there, but this Bible verse is much, much more than a “get out of hell for free card.” Because there’s nothing free when it comes to what Jesus paid on the cross. We may freely receive the salvation message, and freely give it, but that Gospel message cost Jesus everything! He paid the ultimate price with His own life. So, let’s not think we’re free to do as we please; to spend our time as we would like. Uh, uh. We may be free from the power of sin, but we are not free of its presence. It’s why you are a bond servant of Jesus Christ, and so freely give your heart, and soul, and your strength today in devotion to and in obedient service of your wonderful Savior. You received a costly gift; now give it freely.
