Friends for Amber

Amber with her new friendsDo you sometimes wish you had more friends? Or maybe you wish you had better friends? Amber felt that way, too. She had two things that made her feel like no one could be her friend. She couldn’t use one of her arms and her back had a great big curve in it. Not only did that make it hard for her to do things, but she felt it made her look funny. And that is hard for any person to feel good about. But somebody invited her to help at a Joni and Friends event, and that made a big difference! Why? Because she met a lot of other kids who had disabilities and she learned ways she could help and encourage them! So if you’re feeling lonely, look for someone who could use your help (or even your smile!). It’s a great way to make new friends.
