Freedom In Christ

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and how well I remember days when I felt confined to my wheelchair. Now, when I say confined, I mean just that. Like a prisoner trapped in my own set of bolts and bars on wheels. To be confined in my wheelchair meant I had no freedom to do what I wanted to do. I was stuck. I was imprisoned. But when I embraced Christ, I found that verse where Jesus says, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” It helped me to look at my wheelchair in a whole new light. Because then this wheelchair is what drove me into the arms of Jesus. My wheelchair became my teacher, a guide that led me to the Lord. It was the prison that set me free. How so? It led me to Christ.

Do you know someone who feels confined to their wheelchair? Well, they need not feel that way. Tell them about freedom in Christ at joniandfriends.org. I’m Joni Eareckson Tada.
