Sister and Brother huggingYou’ve heard the old rhyme, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” This is not true at all, is it? People can say very mean and hurtful things. Sometimes it can hurt our feelings so much that we don’t want to be friends with that person. Did you know the Bible is very specific about forgiveness? Ephesians 4:32 tells us we should forgive others when they hurt us, because Jesus forgives us when we do mean and hurtful things to Him. October 27 is National Forgiveness Day. We should strive to be more like Jesus every day, but on this day, if someone hurts your feelings, make an extra effort to forgive right away. If you forgive them, it will make both you and the other person feel much happier. More importantly, though, it will make Jesus happier.
