Ezra’s Prayer

Do you ever get really sad about all of the people who don’t obey God? If you have been reading the Bible with Joni and Ken this year, then in today’s reading you found someone else who got really sad about sin. Ezra had been working hard to teach God’s people how to obey God and worship Him. Then suddenly Ezra found out about lots and lots of people who were choosing to disobey instead. He was so hurt! But what does Ezra do? He prays! He asks God to forgive him of his sins and to not be angry at everyone’s sin. And because Ezra does this, people around him become sorry for their sins and want to make things right. It’s a good example for us!
