Wheels for the World – Dominican Republic
March 1 - March 9
The Dominican Republic is the second largest nation in the Caribbean and shares the beautiful island of Hispaniola with its neighbor, Haiti. Appearance and image are very important to the vibrant Dominican people and serve as indicators of success and social class. Family members often hide relatives with disabilities in their homes to avoid judgement from their community. You will have lots of opportunities to bless people with disabilities as you serve as a seating specialist, mechanic, photographer, or support role. Although Spanish is the official language in the Dominican Republic, English is widely spoken. No visa is required to enter the Dominican Republic, however, tourist cards will be obtained in-country. The cost for this outreach is all-inclusive.
