Dallas Theological Seminary University Affiliation
January 9 - August 31
Dallas Theological Seminary students receive biblical education on a theology of suffering, using Beyond Suffering as a core text. This course provides students with a solid understanding of the main issues involved in various aspects of disability ministry as well as larger questions about the goodness of God and human suffering. DTS students then serve as Short Term Missionaries at a Joni and Friends Family Retreat during the Summer of 2019. Through the practical application of the course material at Family Retreat, students will gain a deeper understanding of the disability community and the church’s obligation to reach out to those who are most vulnerable.
