Ernesto’s Game

Ernesto's GameToday is the start of an International Family Retreat in Guatemala. This will be a brand new experience for a lot of families. Fun and games are not very common for people with disabilities in poor countries. So when they get to come to Family Retreat, it’s an exciting time! A couple years ago, a boy named Ernesto came. He couldn’t see, but he had a friend take him into the middle of a wheelchair hockey game. There was so much noise and kids were rushing every which way to hit the ball. You might think that Ernesto would have gotten scared to have so much going on around him and not being able to see it. But that wasn’t what happened! He was so happy to be playing with everyone, and he knew his friend would help him. He could be happy because he had learned what it means to trust. Isaiah 50:10 says, “Let the person who walks in the dark trust in the Lord. Let the one who doesn’t have any light to guide them depend on their God” (NIrV). As another Family Retreat starts in Guatemala today, pray for Ernesto and other kids who will be enjoying this week of fun and learning about God. Then download this Braille activity and see if you can Crack the Code.
