The Empty Tomb: Jeremy’s Egg

An empty Easter egg.

Happy Easter! If you have kids or grandkids, today is very likely to be a fun day for them — what with church plays, Easter egg hunts, and yummy chocolate covered bunnies. Children, especially children with disabilities, seem to have an inside track into the ways of God. I’m thinking of little Jeremy — a twelve-year-old boy with a learning disability. One Easter, his teacher told the story of how Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose from the grave victorious. She then asked Jeremy and his classmates to take home a large plastic egg and bring it back with something inside that showed new life. Some of the kids brought back eggs filled with flowers or plastic butterflies. But Jeremy’s egg had nothing in it. That’s because Jeremy realized something everyone else had missed … the tomb of Jesus was empty, too! Oh friend, it’s a story that I know will touch your heart — so make sure to get the full story from my radio program and then share it with your friends! The tomb is empty, He has risen, Halleluiah!
