A picture of a little deer in a lush green field.

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. The other day I read EM Bounds’ fascinating account on how a pack of dogs chased a little deer into his yard. The cowering fawn lay at his feet while the dogs leaped over the railings and charged toward them. The man held the fawn to his breast and swung his legs around and fought off the dogs. As far as he was concerned, nothing in all the world could harm the deer that had appealed to his strength for safety.

EM Bounds ends with the statement, “So it is when human helplessness appeals to Almighty God.”  Do you see yourself in that story? I do, because when we’re in the arms of Christ, we are safe, and as far as God is concerned, nothing in all of hell; all the hounds of the devil cannot possibly touch us. All because we’ve appealed to God in our weakness. Remember to do that today. And you’ll be safe.

God’s Power in Weakness

Looking back on 55 years in a wheelchair, Joni reflects on the Lord’s faithfulness amid her adversity. She shares how trusting God through hardship has given her strength to not only persevere but live with hope and joy!
