Don’t Be Afraid

Friends at RetreatWe hope you’ve learned a lot from our tips about how to greet and be a better friend to someone with a disability. We have one more tip to share, and it’s the most important of all! Today’s tip is… don’t be afraid of someone with a disability! People with disabilities are just like everyone else. They love to go out to eat, travel, watch movies, and play sports! Just because someone is blind, uses a wheelchair, or has another disability doesn’t mean you should feel afraid to talk to them. God made every one of us different with special talents and abilities for a reason. We are each created to serve a special purpose that no one else can. So the next time you see someone who has a disability, don’t be afraid to go up to him or her and say “hello.” You’ll probably make a new friend!
