Consult The Lord

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. The other day I was downloading a rental agreement for a friend because she asked me to help her fill it out. With her sitting next to me at my computer, we began filling in all the blanks. You know, the address of the rental property, the stipulations about repairs, when the rent would be due, when all of a sudden, it hit me – we had not prayed. We had not consulted the Lord to ask for His wisdom. We were just plowing ahead. So, right there on page two, we stopped and prayed, “Oh, God, please, You guide us through this document, would you?” And from then on out, it went as easy as pie. In Hosea chapter 4, the Lord laments (actually, He gets angry) that His children, His people, do not consult Him. Look, you don’t want to test the patience of God. So, no matter what the issue is, great or small, before you decide anything, consult the Lord.
