Confirming God’s Character
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and when you are going through a hard time – perhaps a deep grief or disappointment, a long season of pain – you need two things – you need endurance and encouragement. And I know that firsthand. Living with a chronic disability that doesn’t go away? I need strength to endure; plus, I need encouraging words. Now, often the first place we look for endurance is to ourselves. But there’s a better place to look. Romans 15:5 says, “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude.” Right there you have it. So, are you weary of being disappointed? Do you wonder where you’re going to find the strength to go on? Well, look to God who gives the endurance you need and the encouragement you long for. He’ll give you the same attitude: strength to overcome and words that always inspire and lift up.
