Coming Attractions

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. I remember long ago on one of those cold, wintry nights on the farm, my sister and I stepped outside to gaze at the beautiful nighttime sky. It was ablaze with sparkling stars, and it got us talking about heaven and eternity. Oh and, friend, it is coming soon! Those nights on the farm feel like yesterday. It’s why James 4 says, “What is your life? You are like a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” Trouble is, we get so caught up in life that if God hadn’t told us differently, we’d think this parade of life as we know it would go on forever. But it won’t. And it’s not even the best life we’ll ever come by. Good things on earth are mere images of better things we will one day know in heaven. So, let’s not get too satisfied with fine things here – they are only previews of the coming attractions. Think about that next time you’re out on a gorgeous starry night.
