Change of Heart
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and early on in my marriage I learned that prayer really changes things. It started when my new husband spent Monday nights watching football instead of helping me write out my Bible study; boy, was I upset. But then I came across Philippians chapter 2 where it says, “… in humility consider others better than yourselves...” Boy was I convicted. I stopped trying to change Ken for selfish reasons and began to pray specifically and committedly for him. Thinking my prayers would transform my husband, God ended up changing me (I became a Monday night football fan). Oh, and by the way, God also eventually did change my husband – because now, years later, Ken is such a man of God’s word! So if you are unsettled in a relationship with someone, start praying for that person. Who knows? Change may come sooner than you think – and maybe that change will happen in your own heart. For joniandfriends.org this is Joni Eareckson Tada.
