Psalms 91

Knowing that I’m undergoing surgery for cancer tomorrow, my old high school friend Diana emailed me these reassuring words from Psalm 91:2, 4-5:

“I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’… He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day.”

If those words weren’t reassuring enough, she attached a photo that touchingly illustrates the comfort and security of trusting in God during times like these.

See that fluffy little one peeking up and looking totally content? That’s how I feel, safe, protected and… content. And why not? When friends like you pray, God’s got me covered!
