Love in Action

It is always the personal touches that mean the most when you’re in need. Mr. Ellis, a teacher at Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, taught more than just Bible or Latin. He was known for loving his students as Jesus would, and always looking for ways to demonstrate that love to each boy and girl in his classes. Last year when he was diagnosed with cancer, he wrote the following to his students: “I love you. I believe now more than ever that God is good and that He is with us…” As he faced his fight against an aggressive cancer, his students mirrored back Jesus’ love in a big way – just look how they gathered to support their beloved teacher in his final days, showing him that they’d taken his lessons to heart.
