“Joni” in Serbia

Joni's Story TranslatedLast year, my friend Judy Butler went to Serbia to volunteer at our International Family Retreat there. Judy continues to share with others about her wonderful experiences while serving oversees. She texted me this photo, saying, “I was visiting a church’s bookstore in Serbia and there was the ‘Joni’ book right in the front window — then I learned from the church pastor that yours was the first Christian book he read as a young man. Isn’t it wonderful to see, so many years later, all the fruit in Christ’s kingdom as a result of the Gospel seeds that you planted long ago?!” Her text gave me a lump in my throat. Because now, that church is reaching out to families affected by disability. And I pray that God will continue to use the more than 50 foreign language editions of the “Joni” book that are still being read to expand His kingdom around the world! I’m also looking forward to hearing all about Judy’s next adventure as she prepares to travel next month with our International Family Retreat in Nanjing, China. Friend, we are in need of more volunteers so visit our International Family Retreat page to learn how you, too, can serve families affected by disabilities oversees.
