Jerry Bridges Home-going

Years ago, when I was still in my 20s (and still somewhat new to ‘life in a wheelchair’), I joined a small girls’ Bible study group – one of our first studies was Jerry Bridges’ Pursuit of Holiness. Then came The Practice of Godliness. Those two books helped confirm the importance of leaving behind stubborn sins in order to draw closer to Christ. How can we cleave to the cross when we still hold fast to the very things for which Christ died on that cross? I have Jerry Bridges to thank for that solid perspective on a holy lifestyle – and today, just 24 hours after Jerry slipped into heaven, people around the world are now sharing the same sort of reflections as I just did with you.
