Heaven Sent Messages

Often my best times of “waiting on the Lord” happen when I am waiting in busy airports, whether for a delayed flight or late baggage. When everything is noisy, harried and hurried, God enjoys giving pleasant reminders of his glory and grace. Like these set of chairs I noticed in the Special Services Section. As Ken was checking us in, I smiled when I noticed that the handicap-icon in the middle… was missing his wheelchair!

It made me muse on Isaiah 35:4-6: “Say to those with anxious hearts, ‘Be strong, do not be afraid. Here is your God… and he will save you.’ Then the eyes of the blind will be opened… then the lame will leap like deer.” I’m a little like that stick figure; one day I’ll be missing my wheelchair (amazing what you glean from an airport’s Special Services Section)! This world is a little like LAX, filled with people rushing here and there. But when we open the eyes of our hearts; when we wait on Him, we see quiet heaven-sent messages from God all around us. Today, keep your eyes open for God’s message of encouragement to you.
