Can the Blind Lead the Blind?

BlindThis snapshot proves it’s more than possible… it’s even natural if you happen to be attending a Joni and Friends’ Family Retreat. Meet Janine Hults who is legally blind and uses a guide dog, and Andy Anderson who, because of diabetes, is an amputee and is visually impaired, as well. And he just wouldn’t be able to get around if not for his canine companion. Earlier this year during Family Retreat, Andy needed someone to push him across campus and when Janine offered, he laughed and said, “Why not?!” The two made certain to take it slowly and stay in the middle of the path, and they arrived safely at their destination. God has a heart for people like Andy and Janine; in Leviticus 19:14 He says, “Do not … cause the blind to stumble. You must fear your God; I am the Lord.” If you know someone who is visually impaired, tell them that Joni and Friends’ Family Retreats are for them, too!
